Today is my very good friend Guzin's birthday (she is in the cream sweater). Guzin and I worked together in NY and we would always laugh because we didn't really know how we became friends (we never worked on the same project, except once long after we were friends). She made work so much more enjoyable and we connected on a level where you don't have to talk but with a glance knew what the other was thinking. She's on a six month secondment in Turkey for work right now (she is from Istanbul - I hope my Turkish translation of Happy Birthday is correct, it's a tough language) and I'm super excited to go visit her there this summer.
