Road Trip.

J and I got in the car and headed south yesterday. Our destination was Jared & Elaine's place in Las Vegas. The five or so hours spent driving went by really quick in comparison to our last road trip, when we didn't know where we were going, how to get there, where we were staying, etc. One of us is a huge fan of spontaneity, and the other one a fan of mapquest but is trying to embrace it.
.
Our last road trip included a loooong leg from Manhattan to Palmyra, NY. We rolled into Palmyra around 11:00 pm and found our way to a hotel. The next morning, after seeing the sights, we continued on to Niagara Falls where we spent all of 50 minutes checking out the amazing falls and getting drenched by their spray. Like I mentioned we were all about spontaneity and didn't do any research which likely would have recommended umbrellas or ponchos for our visit. Driving around Lake Ontario seemed like a good idea after enjoying the falls, but then we hit some serious rush hour traffic which we were stuck in for at least five hours (and I happened to be the lucky driver for this segment). After what seemed like forever, we dropped back into the US via NY and drove through American Indian land which included lots of two lane roads and wildlife. In one of the more populated areas we saw bouncing headlights coming toward us and couldn't figure out what it was. Imagine our surprise when two horse drawn buggies passed us. After spending a couple of days in Sugarbush, Vermont for my friend Jessica's wedding we made a pit stop at Ben & Jerry's (we LOVE ice cream) and then continued on through New Hampshire to Boston.
