I've been wanting to post about the Ingrid Michaelson/Joshua Radin concert from a couple weeks ago, but haven't been able to focus. The concert was great and Ingrid was fabulous (as was her back up singer Ali Moss). She is a natural with the crowd and gives personal details about songs, but also keeps things interesting by asking about the city and people in the crowd. I was checking out her website and found that she'll be back in SLC for The Hotel Cafe Tour on April 5.

For the past 4 years, The Hotel Café has been presenting a tour that has hit every major market in the United States and UK. The concept of the tour was to share the same community vibe with music fans all over the country. Artists performed solo and would then share the stage with fellow tour mates. No cookie cutter corporate American Idols, just real music, written by real artists, surrounded by real friends, who actually have a story to tell.
Each city on the 2005 tour featured different headliners and local heroes. MySpace produced 25,000 compilation CDs, which were distributed for free to fans that attended the concert. Artists helped to create a certain intimacy by personally greeting the audience after the shows, even when venue sizes were as large as 2,500 seaters.
Starting in March 2008, The Hotel Café Tour will embark on another journey that will cover 35+ major markets in the North America, before heading over to the United Kingdom and making it’s entry into Europe and Japan!

Ingrid being a great performer coupled with the other artists on the ticket should make for a great show. If we're in town that weekend, we'll be there!

So jealous, so jealous. Her (+ Josh) NYC show is sold out. Boo. I want to go again.
PS- Is she a lesbian? I don't care. I just wonder. She & Ali had some chemistry... And her album has some ambiguous lyrics...
I can't believe she'll be back again so soon!
Not sure if she is a lesbian, I would guess no. When we saw her in NY she made a couple comments about guys, but then corrected and said something like, "or whatever you prefer." As far as her chemistry with Ali, I would guess they must spend so much time together on the road that they have their own little language while on stage - who knows.
